Are You Uncomfortable On Your Bike? |
Fusion Cycles uses the Fit Kit cycle positioning system. This technology is from the US and ensures our customers a safe developmental starting position. This is a proprietary bicycle fitting system that maximizes performance and reduces injuries caused by improper fit. The Fit Kit System uses body and bike measurements to properly align clipless bike pedals to accomodate your natural gait during your pedal rotation, to ensure you are in the right position over your handlebars and to optimize your saddle position for a comfortable ride. Below is the Fusion Fitting Menu. Bookings are essential for bike fittings, please call 3252 9997 to book in.

Ride Log - Brookfield Loop 50km |

This ride takes you along some quiet and scenic roads to Brookfield. There are a few bike paths to take until you reach Moggill road. It can get busy, in particular during the week, so take care – single file is needed in some sections of the road towards Brookfield. The roads to Brookfield have a few ascents – but nothing too long or too steep. Once you get there, you will be impressed with the quiet surrounds, low traffic and the option to rack up plenty of k’s ! Total ride length is close to 50km, taking close to 1hr45min to 2 hrs to complete. The course and exact directions were tracked by my Garmin Edge 800, and can be found on the Garmin connect website here.
Leaving Fusion cycles, make your way to the Coro bike path via Ann st. Follow the bike path until you come across the underpass near the Regatta hotel. Make your way to the bike path aligning the M5, follow this until you get to the Moggill rd intersection. Turn right and ride till you come across a roundabout at Kenmore hills shopping complex, moving to the right lane, take the 2nd exit towards Brookfield. The next roundabout you get to will be the central point of the ride – there are 3 legs to choose from, we went right at this point, follow the road all the way till the end, and you have reached Gold Creek reservoir. From here, double back along the same roads to Fusion cycles.

Group Riding Tips |
When riding in a bunch there are certain rules/etiquette you need to follow to help the session run smoothly and safely.
1) Riding 2 abreast – pair off in formation of never more than 2 abreast. Certain roads might require single file. Some double lane roads without a shoulder dictate that it is better (and legal) to sit in the middle of the lane rather than have vehicles squeeze past.
2) Half wheeling – half wheeling is when the person next to you rides with their front wheel slightly in front of yours and the speed gradually increases as you try to level up. Ride beside the person next to you, not in front of them.
3) Pedal on downhills – the leaders of the group should never coast on the downhills as this leads to the group behind bunching up and causes unnecessary braking.
4) Fill the gap – if there is a gap next to you, then signal for someone to fill the gap from behind, or you can peel off to the rear of the bunch.
5) Loud and clear calls - As the people behind can’t generally see where they are going, the leaders have to be the ‘eyes’ of the bunch. Point to all obstacles (holes etc) and communicate the problem in a loud, clear voice.
6) Constant pace – keep the pace smooth and steady, particularly on up-hills. If you want to race every up-hill, go ride by yourself.
7) Road rules – obey all road rules, including stopping at red lights.
